Children struggle with a lack of nutritious food, which leads to malnourishment. Malnourishment is a health problem resulting from inadequate and suboptimal nutritional status, caused by poor and unbalanced consumption of macronutrients and/or micronutrients.
Many children engage in child labour at a young age. There are around 10.13 million child labourers between 5-14 years in India (4.1 million girls and 5.6 million boys). Child labourers are engaged in paid and unpaid forms of work that are not harmful to them; however, these activities will compromise their physical, mental, social or educational development in the long run.
